Drowning Pool is a southern Rock/Metal band, originally from Dallas.
Their biggest and most popular hit "Bodies", may be as well be one of the best Rock/Metal songs ever made. They started to gain more public recognition after 2001's Ozzfest. Their first album "Sinner" got platinum within six weeks.

Tragically in Summer 2002 the singers lead vocalist Dave Williams, a man with a truely gifted voice, was found dead in the band's tour bus. Toxicology reports after his death indicated that he suffered from a form of heart disease.

In 2003 the band finally found a worthy replacement for Williams: Jason 'Gong' Jones. They released their 2nd album "Desensitized" in 2004. Though the album did sell really well there was a lot of criticism by fans who said they were missing William's trademark vocal presence. In June 2005 the departure of Jason Jones was officially announced.

Towards the end of 2005 (former) Soil frontman Ryan McCombs joined the band (a great solution for several reasons, as Soil and DP have a similar fanbase and a comparable sound).

In 2006 the band released their first new song on the official Saw III soundtrack "No More".

The bands next full length album, "FULL CIRCLE" is scheduled for a late July 2007 release.

I so cant wait! I love Drowning Pool - they are just amazing!
So is Soil by the way. I'll write a topic about them too soon!

thats a bummer that Jason left. I think he did a really fucking awesome job considering all the things that happened with the band before. He didn't try to sing like Dave or make this band his own. He tried and you gotta give him props for that.

I am pretty anxious to see where they've gone with Ryan as their frontman.

I think the last singer wasn't good. As it's said above won't be the same without dave williams.

I saw Drowning Pool last weekend at Jaxx in Springfield, Va. I also saw them last summer with Ryan, and I think they sounded much better this time around. I'm looking forward to the new album.

Their new album is kickass. I love every song. Especially 'Full Cicle' kicks ass.
